services, we also work towards creating awareness to help address the issue of
stigma as it relates to mental health and wellness. Our organization and its
partners seek to establish grassroots actions to provide compassionate and
concrete solutions.

Where we work
Reconnect Health Development Initiative was first established in
2013 in Nigeria with registration number CAC/IT/No 62119. Over the years,
we have gradually grown across the continent and extended to the UK. Reconnect
HDI was officially registered with Charities Commission in the UK in 2015;
Commission No 1160808.
Our branches in Nigeria are situated in two (2) states of Nigeria:
Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and Niger State (Suleja).
ABOUT ABUJA
Abuja is the national Capital of Nigeria. In a sharp contrast,
Abuja is one of the safest metropolitan cities in Nigeria. It is located almost
in the centre of the country north of the confluence of Niger and Benue rivers.
It is bordered by states of Niger to the West, Kaduna to the Northeast, Nasarawa
to the East and South and Kogi to the Southwest. The Official Language is
English. It is a beautiful city with several tourist attractions like the Abuja
Millennium Park, the Ecumenical centre, National Assembly Complex, Aso Rock and
so many others.
Reconnect HDI is 1.5km from the Wuse Market, the main market in
Abuja. Everything is available from fresh food to clothes, music and
electronics are not expensive. Reconnect HDI is also about 4km from the Art and
Craft Village (across the road from Sheraton Hotel).

ABOUT SULEJA
Reconnect HDI can also be located at Suleja, a city in Niger state
just north of Abuja. It is 56km from the Nigerian Federal Capital. It is
recognised as a centre of excellence for traditional West African pottery
namely the world famous Ladi Kwali pottery centre. Their chief occupation is
mostly pottery, residents also indulge in mat making, cotton weaving and
dyeing. Their local trade is primarily in agricultural products. It is located
in North-Central geopolitical zone of Nigeria, created in 1976. The three
ethnic groups of the state are Nupe, Gwari and Hausa. Kaduna State and FCT are
her borders the north, Kebbi state in the west, Kogi State in the South and
Kwara State in the South- West while the republic of Benin her North-West.
